You guys...
Graham Percival

What's wrong with you guys? I can't see anything wrong with Glen's unprinted article.

He makes it pretty clear that he doesn't think that Asians are bad ("...that great race"). I'm a bit curious as to what the justification for genocide is, but he clearly states that we should accept it as a premise. If you can't deal with that, stop reading the article and take PHIL 001 to learn what a premise is.

Even if there is something wrong with the article - so what? You'll get a bunch of letters for a change? Maybe spark some controversy that isn't about the Middle East?

At this point, you should devote a page to that article. Print it as it was submitted, then let Glen add comments (including the stuff he couldn't fit into the 850 words), have the Peak editors state their objections, then find out what (or if) students think about it.

Tejpal's comparison to mainstream media is absolutely right. What do you want to be, Peakies? A training ground for Conrad Black, or a "free speech" student newspaper?

Either is fair game, but if you want to suck up to the mainstream, stop pretending to be radical.
