On Warren Haas . . .

Chris Conway

I’d like to send a big shout-out to Warren Haas for taking the early lead for this term’s dumbest article [“It’s four courses, it’s not brain surgery,” February 20]. “Article” is probably too kind of a word to describe it, but oh well. In his “article,” Warren rambles on about how great he is for taking five classes and that anyone taking less than five is “lazy” or “stupid.” Well Mr. Haas (Ass would be more appropriate but I wouldn’t want to disrespect your poor old daddy who took six classes), I noticed the title under your name says “Humour Editor.” This strikes me as odd as your piece was anything but funny. “Rambling Bullshit Editor” would be far more appropriate [Opinions Editor’s note: No, that’s my job — kidding, totally kidding . . . send me letters].

But maybe the whole joke is on the reader when they finish and figure how much of a waste their last two minutes was. Was it a slow week for you in the news department? Or maybe you were too busy with your five classes to come up with anything remotely humourous or relevant. Unless you want to take over the writing duties for “Susie’s Night Out” in The Province, I hope for your sake you don’t use your five classes a term to do anything that resembles journalism in the future.
