Life begins at conception

I believe that it is wrong to abort babies. I believe this is because it is the main reason I live today. I live today thanks to my mom who thought of me as having equal rights to life even though I was the weakest member of society. My mom, at age of 29, realized that she was pregnant. As most women know, when a pregnancy is confirmed it can make one's mind go racing. The doctor advised my mom that having an abortion would be the easiest thing to do. My mom was not just scared, she was terrified. The idea of having an abortion was never even a consideration for my mom.

She could not live with the fact that if she had aborted me, she would have the responsibility of a death on her hands - a death because of her actions. My mom decided to keep the baby. I am that baby.

Each of us has a very precise staring moment. This is when all the necessary and sufficient genetic information is gathered inside one cell, the fertilized egg. This is the moment of conception. There is no difference between the early person that you were at conception and the late person which you are now! You were and are a human being! Consequently, unborn babies must be protected and guaranteed their "right to life."

Sincerely,

Floare Farcas
